Freedom is one of the major ideals of human existence. We usually think of freedom as an external
reality, with a political and economic framework, related to laws and
government and material well being.
Freedom is also an ideal that applies to the internal realm, central to
the notion of psychological health.
Psychotherapy is most importantly about the expansion of
awareness. The therapist uses his or her
focused attention and present awareness to support the development of greater
consciousness in the client. In the
process, various kinds of impediments to awareness are encountered. The therapist supports the client’s efforts
to remove these barriers.
On this blog site I will be posting a number of schemas that I find useful in my work as a psychotherapist. I welcome comments, criticisms, suggestions, praise, other schemas.
